SLD Laser demonstrates its high power Blue Laser module technology

SLD Laser, a leading company in the commercialization of laser light sources & blue laser products, recently announced to have demonstrated high brightness, high power, ultra-compact, fiber coupled blue laser modules for application in consumer electronic devices, copper welding for battery production in electric vehicles and 3D printing.

The company is expected to unveil its blue laser module technology & also demonstrate its award winning IEC & UL safety-certified, high luminance LaserLight-Fiber products and LaserLight-SMD, cite sources.

Reportedly, the company’s blue laser light is extremely absorptive in organics and non-metals, which makes it ideal for engraving, marking and cutting. Likewise, for biomedical applications, the company’s laser light exhibits more than 10 times absorption in melanin in skin, blood HB than IR lasers, facilitating next-gen solutions in surgery and dermatology.

Dr. James Raring, President, COO & Co-Founder, SLD Laser, was reported to state that the company is motivated to introduce its high brightness, high power blue laser module technology for processing industrial materials. The blue laser light modules feature 12 times the processing quality, absorption & speed compared to IR laser technology, says Raring, adding that the technology produces outstanding results in stainless steel, aluminum, copper, as well as metals like- gold, silver, titanium and nickel, that are commonly used for plating, 3D printing and thin metal processes.

As per credible sources, Blue laser module technology of SLD is ultra-compact, with roughly the size of a credit card & delivers over 20 watts through a 100 micron transport fiber. The technology enables power scaling and combined with optical fibers into high-power systems, to deliver hundreds of watts of high brightness fibers, that are less than 600 μm diameter.

SLD’s blue laser modules showcase the company’s proprietary Semipolar GaN laser diode technology, which is a highly efficient operation to assist application development teams and system integrators to configure solutions for varied range of applications, & to get them to the market quickly.
