Changi Airport Group, which operates the world’s 7th busiest airport for international traffic, has recently tapped Accenture to build and operate a ‘digital factory’. The move of establishing this digital factory was essentially made to continuously transform operations and re-invent passenger experiences.
The digital factory is known as DIVA (digital, innovation, ventures, and analytics), which will use new ways of working, with rapid prototyping, experimentation, and design thinking at the core. It will help CAG experiment, develop, and launch new digital services and products, from conceptualization to market launch. DIVA was developed by Accenture, an Irish-domicile multinational professional services company, in ASEAN to drive major airport innovation.
CAG’s DIVA team constitutes professionals from both Accenture and CAG, and leverages innovative capabilities and technologies, including big data/analytics, IoT (Internet of Things), predictive maintenance, digital marketing, and AI (artificial intelligence) to tackle challenges. This factory focuses on scaling the delivery of business outcomes, with lines of predictable delivery, production, and quality controls across various CAG departments such as engineering, corporate marketing & communications, IT, commercial and operations, among others.
According to Fabio Vacirca, Accenture’s Operating Unit Group Lead across Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East, DIVA enables major airports such as CAG to drive innovations and become a world-class leader by developing digital solutions & re-evaluating airport operations. It will help solve complex business challenges by rapidly developing innovative services and products.
Under the assistance of Accenture, CAG has developed an AI-powered virtual assistance for various airport operations, predictive engineering maintenance solution, and next-gen commercial digital marketing campaigns, which has been powered by Applied Intelligence accelerators and solutions by Accenture.
Singapore Changi Airport has been continuously delivering high-value performance to offer differentiated, real-time experience to customers. DIVA, in alignment with Smart Nation vision of Singapore, is a significant milestone for both CAG and Singapore. It showcases efforts of CAG to enhance and keep up with ongoing disruptions in the business operations.
