Agile Analog offers access to easy to use and flexible analog IPs, enabling a wide range of customers to integrate more analog on their chips

Agile Analog, the Cambridge-based startup has recently closed a pre-Series A round of funding from MMC Ventures, Delin Ventures and firstminute Capital for a total amount of €4.5 million.

Apparently, with the augment of AI, Internet of Things and autonomous vehicles, the future generation of newer, smaller process nodes and telecoms require new chip designs. Analog circuits are required on all chips for interfacing between the digital world and real world, from sensors to battery connections to data communication. Analog design, which is slow and manual, is always a bottleneck in the chip design process.

Agile Analog’s solution supposedly eliminates this issue by providing customers exactly the type of component they require on precisely the right semiconductor process. This allows customers of Agile Analog to increase the pace of chip innovation and offer affordable, smaller, more reliable and lower power solutions to market quicker.

Seemingly, by eliminating the manual process, Agile Analog offers access to easy to use and flexible analog IPs, allowing a wide range of customers to integrate more analog into their chips and substantially lowering the cost and size of end products.

Sources familiar with the matter informed that the company will use this funding to extend the current engineering team in Cambridge and provide analog IP products to a broad range of customers. The unique AI-driven platform of Agile Analog replaces the current manual design process that has essentially remained unchanged for 60 years.

According to CEO of Agile Analog, Tim Ramsdale, this investment will enable the company to deliver faster solutions to customers and deliver a possible paradigm change in the $2 billion analog IP market.

For the record, Agile Analog was founded in 2017 as a small VC funded startup which is aimed at transforming the way Analog circuits are designed. It is able to design analog circuits faster owing to an innovative core technology.
