GridGain Systems unveils ‘GridGain for z/OS’ for use on IBM z/OS
GridGain Systems, an enterprise-grade in-memory computing solutions provider, has recently revealed its optimized in-memory computing platform, GridGain for z/OS, for IBM z/OS operating system. According to reliable sources, the new platform allows businesses to immediately implement solutions for effective digital transformation of core systems. The system also runs analytics over its whole data estate to drive business processes in real-time.
Sources close to launch claim that the company is presently running tests of GridGain for z/OS in those insurance companies and banks that employ IBM mainframes to run their core business processes.
For the record, the IBM Z application is mainly used by 4 of the top 5 airlines, 44 out of 50 top global banks, and is roughly used by two-thirds of the Fortune 100 companies. Since its inception, IBM Z has managed to power the most crucial business systems of top businesses and is said to run 4.1 million core business transactions per second.
Speaking on the move, Abe Kleinfeld, President & CEO, GridGain Systems, said that the latest OS signifies another step ahead for enterprise digital transformations that work on in-memory computing technology. Kleinfeld added that the company projects that GridGain for z/OS would garner interest among a wide variety of industries that are dependent on the Z platform for their principal applications.
Reportedly, GridGain Systems also made headlines recently when it introduced blocks of consulting hours for GridGain and Apache Ignite Community Edition. The platform could be utilized for getting assistance for a broad range of tasks, which include performance optimizations, software setup, and configuration, architectural design review or planning, to name a few.
Speaking of which, Kleinfeld said that in-memory computing has turned out to become an integral part of almost every digital transformation initiative. However, several users may face some unique challenges in implementing this technology for optimum impact.
